Limitations of narrow-bandwidth amplification at different seed wavelengths in Ytterbium-doped fibers

Abstract

We report on our investigations of Ytterbium-doped double-clad fiber amplifiers seeded at 1030nm and 1073nm as well as the combination of both. Limitations are found to be ASE and SRS depending on the seed configuration.
