Abstract

Yb,Tm:LiYF4 laser pumped by a 976-nm ytterbium-fiber laser generated 0.70 W at 2.3 μm with 26.7% slope efficiency, 46 mW laser threshold and linear polarization. Polarization switching in the 1.5-μm laser is also reported.
