Abstract

We report on the first femtosecond pulse generation from a SESAM mode-locked Yb:Bi4Si3O12 (Yb:BSO) laser pumped with a single-mode fiber-coupled diode laser at 976 nm. Near Fourier transform limited 165-fs pulses centered at 1037.8 nm were obtained.
