Abstract
Interferometric, or aperture-synthesis, imaging of ever fainter objects requires ever larger aperture sizes. However, for ground-based interferometry, large aperture sizes entail a large decorrelation – and an accompanying loss of sensitivity – as a result of the atmospheric turbulence.
