Abstract

We propose a novel pre-equalized quadrature duobinary encoding scheme for bandwidth limited optical coherent system. 5×256-Gb/s (64-Gbaud) PDM-QPSK transmission in 50-GHz grid is experimentally demonstrated over 3120-km SSMF and EDFA-only link, achieving a net SE-distance product of 12923-bit/s/Hz-km.
