“Quasi-static” quasi-phasematched nonlinear nanophotonics: How few photons, how few cycles?

Abstract

Periodically-poled nanophotonic waveguides in thin-film LiNbO3 (TFLN) provide simultaneous dispersion engineering and quasi-phasematching in a highly nonlinear material. Near-zero GVM and GVD enable femtojoule wavemixing, new routes to octave-spanning continua, and hold promise for few-photon NLO.
