A simple method for manufacturing centimeter-long all-PDMS (poly-dimethylsiloxane) embedded and rib microwaveguides allows for the fabrication of centimeter-long micromolds by direct laser ablation of a desired waveguide pattern inside an acrylic sheet. This will create a pattern which is then transferred to a PDMS layer using soft-lithography. This side view micrograph shows the embedded channel of an all-PDMS waveguide. See Pérez-Calixto et al. Opt. Mater. Express 7, 1343-1350 (2017).
