Abstract
A method of finding the three-dimensional distribution of light in the focal region of small- lenses that have arbitrary surface curvatures is described. The Fresnel approximation is not used, and the effects of aberration are included. A comparison of the numerical results with experimental measurements for a commercially obtained plano–convex lens is provided.
