Interaction of one-dimensional bright solitary waves in quadratic media

Abstract

The interaction of spatial solitary waves with one transverse dimension in materials with a χ(2):χ(2) nonlinearity is investigated. The relation between the phases of the two interacting solitary waves strongly influences this interaction and generates threshold phenomena.
