Abstract
The complex amplitude function in the waist of a one-dimensional Hermite–Gaussian model beam is measured by a noniterative method based on the Page distribution function in the two-dimensional spatial–angular phase space. The measurement procedure is realized by an extension of the knife-edge method. The model beam is generated by means of a phase plate in conjunction with a He–Ne laser.
