Abstract

Continuous frequency tuning of a transversely excited CO2 laser was achieved for the 10-μm R branch with conventional gas mixtures at pressures as low as 5 atm. Tuning and spectral characteristics analyzed as a function of pressure are presented together with output energy characteristics.
