Abstract

Subpicosecond pulses were obtained from a KCl:Na+:O2 color-center laser, an improvement in pulse width over previous results by 1 order of magnitude. This was achieved through the use of 12-ps pump pulses produced in an additive-pulse mode-locked Nd:YAG laser.
