Threshold degenerate wave mixing in dye-doped polymer-dispersed liquid crystals

Abstract

We report what is to our knowledge the first observation of nonlinear light diffraction in polymer-dispersed liquid crystals. The superposition with the self-transparency effect produces a threshold in the observed wave-mixing phenomenon.
