Abstract
Picosecond photoinduced absorption in BaTiO3 has been observed for the first time to our knowledge using picosecond laser pulses and a time delay pump–probe technique. The pump intensity dependence as well as the delay time dependence of the photoinduced absorption coefficient have been measured. The results can be explained qualitatively by a secondary-center model. From our results, the hole recombination time with secondary centers is not larger than 60 ps.
