Aberration correction of acousto-optically modulated laser beams by phase conjugation

Abstract

The aberration introduced by an acousto-optic modulator is corrected by means of a self-pumped phase-conjugate mirror. The diffracted beam from the modulator is phase conjugated. An aberration-corrected and frequency-shifted laser beam, which is valuable for heterodyne interferometry, is obtained.
