Image production due to backscattering

Abstract

The observation of an image produced by enhanced multiple backscattering is reported. Light is focused through a 25-μm pinhole and permitted to fall upon a scattering screen consisting of a suspension of polystyrene spheres. The backscattered light is found to produce an image of the source. Preliminary results on the image of a two-slit source are also presented.
