Abstract

We show that the application of isotropic coupling prisms instead of birefringent prisms permits the precise determination of the optical anisotropy of magnetic garnet films; these measurements are essential for phase matching and conversion of optical modes. Using this technique, the anisotropy of a (211)-oriented film was measured with silicon prisms.
