Three-dimensional motion from fixed points of a deforming profile curve

Abstract

The fixed points of profile deformation yield the three-dimensional motion relative to the camera and the structure of an arbitrary smooth object. For general motion three such fixed points are required (or at least one fixed point and two other points with known image motion), although the main practical merit of this method may lie in stereo applications.
