Application of photothermal deflection technique to flow-velocity measurements in a flame

Abstract

A new method for a measurement of flow velocities in flames using the photothermal deflection technique is demonstrated. The technique has been applied to measure the velocity profile of a laminar H2/O2 flame. The method is nonintrusive and has a high degree of spatial and temporal resolution.
