Abstract

We investigate the interaction of intense obliquely incident radiation with nonlinear overdense plasma layers within the framework of a stationary one-dimensional model and the approximation of cubic nonlinearity. The effects of total absorption and total transparency (for nondissipative layers) have been considered from a unified point of view. We emphasize the case of p polarization and also present some preliminary results obtained with unpolarized radiation.
