Low-power, single-interface guided waves mediated by high-power nonlinear guided waves: TE case

Abstract

The dispersion relation for a low-power (probe) TE-polarized wave guided by an interface between a linear and nonlinear medium was derived and investigated numerically as a function of the power of a high-power (pump), TE-polarized nonlinear wave guided by the same interface. The birefringence induced by a Kerr-type nonlinearity leads to a difference between the dispersion relations for pump and probe beams propagating at right angles to each another.
