Abstract
The solitary-wave solutions of degenerate four-wave mixing are obtained by directly solving the coupled equations. The properties of the solitary waves are studied. It is found that the solitary waves are amplified asymptotically and the solutions are stable. Solitary-wave formation is a result of the large signal interactions. The expressions for the velocity and pulse width of solitary waves are also given. Possible applications are discussed.
