Optical and magneto-optical effects of surface plasma waves with damping in iron thin films

Abstract

Neglecting surface roughness, parameters are specified that will enhance the normalized reflectivity difference in the transverse Kerr magneto-optic effect by a factor of 109, suggesting the inadequacy of this standard of measure when conditions become such that the reflectivity almost vanishes.
