Abstract
We present a characterization of the configuration and operation of an intracavity-frequency-doubled femtosecond optical parametric oscillator based on the new nonlinear crystal RbTiOAsO4. Using a Brewster-cut 200-μm-thick crystal of β-BaB2O4, we have generated transform-limited visible pulses tunable from 620 to 660 nm by tuning the Ti:sapphire pump laser alone. Average output powers of 170 mW in pulses with durations as short as 60 fs have been generated at a 85-MHz repetition rate.
