Abstract

We present experimental evidence of the strong sensitivity of the gain to the phase relation of the input waves for subharmonic generation by parametric mixing of orthogonally polarized waves in BaTiO3. A twofold difference between the sensitivity to modulation of the pump-wave phase and the sensitivity to modulation of the signal-wave phase is demonstrated.
