Self-mode locking of continuous-wave solid-state lasers by a nonlinear Kerr polarization modulator

Abstract

A numerical simulation of self-mode locking of cw solid-state lasers with a Kerr polarization modulator is developed. Limited ranges of laser and modulator parameters for which the laser generates a stable train of ultrashort pulses are given.
