Abstract

Closed-form expansions of the five-thirds law, four-point wave-structure function for a turbulent atmosphere are developed. The methodology is discussed, and three expansions involving two terms (≤14% error), three terms (≤2.88% error), and five terms (≤1.66% error) are generated and tested by using a minimum-mean-square error approach.
