Phase recovery with dual nonredundant arrays

Abstract

Nonredundant arrays inserted at the pupil plane of a telescope permit recovery of both amplitude and phase of numerous Fourier components of a small target. A single array, however, yields insufficient information with which to solve for all the Fourier components to which that array responds. A method is proposed here for selecting pairs of arrays that yield complete information within some passband of spatial frequencies.
