4d75s–4d75p transitions in the sixth spectrum of indium:In vi

Abstract

The spectrum of indium was photographed in the region 270–1550 Å on a 10.7-m normal-incidence spectrograph. The source used was a sliding spark. On the basis of these observations all 38 levels of the 4d75s configuration and 8 missing levels of the 4d75p configuration of In vi have been established. The interpretations of three levels of the 4d75p configuration have been revised. Least-squares fitting and Hartree–Fock calculations support the analysis. Six hundred three additional lines have been classified in this spectrum.
