Expected number of intensity level crossings in a normal speckle pattern

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

The crossing of intensity about an arbitrary level is considered for a normal (fully developed) speckle pattern. The expression for the expected number of crossings within a certain space interval is derived. It is found that the maximum number of crossings occur at half the average intensity of the speckle.
