Abstract
Experimental values for Fraunhofer diffraction by thick, conducting half-planes of thicknesses 0.37 λ, 0.548 λ, 1.0 λ, and 2.0 λ are compared with results predicted by the geometrical theory of diffraction for the case where the incident radiation is polarized with the electric vector parallel to the edge. Good agreement is found between experiment and theory.
