Abstract
Photoconductivity spectra and x-ray diffraction experiments on PbI2 films photolyzed at 165°C by 488 nm light, in different ambients, show that the observed induced absorption arises from band-gap states associated with the inclusion of isolated oxides or carbonates of lead in the film, rather than states associated with Pb clusters.
