Abstract
The spectrum of V v has been observed by using 10 m grazing- and normal-incidence spectrographs and a vacuum sliding-spark light source to excite the spectrum. The analysis has been extended to include 38 newly classified lines in the region 199–7600 Å. Seven new levels have been identified, five in the 3p 6nl configuration and two in the 3p 53d4s configuration. Calculated wavelengths given for 42 lines in the region 222–996 Å are suitable as reference lines and the ionization energy is revised to 526 532.0 ± 1.4 cm−1 (65.2822 eV).
