Abstract

Generalized Fresnel coefficients describing power transmission across a curved dielectric interface are extended to include the effects of absorption. Simple conditions are determined under which the total transmitted power can be expressed as the sum of the power transmission due to curvature without absorption, plus the power transmission due to absorption at a planar interface.
