Abstract

The results of a detailed study of the vacuum-ultraviolet transmittance of poly-N-vinyl carbazole (PVK) and its subsequent conversion to optical constants are reported. Optical data for PVK films, 0.01 μm, cover the energy range from 3 to 11.8 ev. Calculated spectra of absorption coefficient, real and imaginary parts of the complex refractive index, and the reflectance are displayed. Good agreement is found between the calculated and measured reflectance.
