Abstract

Optical counterparts to pulsed-electrical-modulation schemes, in which the pulse amplitude, width, position, frequency, and code are modified, are generally applied in carrier-frequency-photography techniques. In addition to the common periodic carrier (periodic-carrier photography), a random or pseudo-random carrier can be used (random-carrier photography) and is sometimes advantageous. Different modulation procedures can be used, in combination with spatially random carriers. Experimental results are shown, using recordings that have isotropic spectra, i.e., their spectra are rotationally symmetric in the Fraunhofer diffraction plane. Indications are given how the imaging properties of the procedure are connected to the parameters of a pseudo-random carrier.
