Abstract
On the basis of quantitative studies of spectral reflectance in the range 350–5100 cm−1 and spectral transmittance between 875 and 7000 cm−1, we have determined the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index of liquid ammonia in the spectral region in which the two sets of measurements overlap. We have also determined these optical constants in the range 5000–350 cm−1 from a Kramers–Kronig analysis of the reflectance measurements. The results of the investigation are presented in graphical and tabular form.
