Abstract
A rotating-sector-disk null method of comparing laser-excited Raman scattering with blackbody radiation is described. With it the Raman-scattering cross sections of the 992-cm−1 line of C6H6, the 1002-cm−1 line of C6H5CH3, the 1345-cm−1 line of C6H5NO2, the 656-cm−1 line of CS2, and the 459-cm−1 line of CCl4 were measured with 3.1% to 3.4% standard deviation.
