Abstract
Raman spectra, with polarizations, are given for a series of B2O3–Bi2O3–Al2O3 glasses in the composition range 0–96 wt% Bi2O3. The spectra of the mixed glasses are different from that of B2O3 except at the lowest Bi2O3 concentration. The low-wavenumber region of the mixed glasses changes in a systematic fashion, with change in composition, but, over-all, the spectra are remarkably insensitive to composition.
