Abstract
A different experimental technique involving continuous flow of premixed samples through a 1.25-cm absorption cell was used to determine the strength of the 667-cm−1 region of CO2; a value of 240±20 (atm-cm)STP−1 cm−1 was obtained. Plots of absorption coefficient vs frequency are presented and compared with results of other investigators; the interval over which absorption is significant differs from some recently published results. The contribution of the Q branch to the strength is estimated and compared with theoretical calculations.
