Factors Influencing the Growth of Small Photographic Images

Abstract

The effect of the photographic emulsion and the lens and camera on the growth of small photographic images of distant point sources is discussed in terms of the relationship between the image growth and the point spread functions. Under some conditions, the optical system makes a major contribution to image growth.
