Lowest Term of the 3dn−24s2 Configuration, in the Ni iii Spectrum

Abstract

In the Ni iii spectrum, at 153 000 K part of a 5D term due to the 3d64s2 configuration, has been found. For the first time, in a third spectrum of an element of the first group of transition elements, the configuration 3dn−24s2 has been located. Eleven lines have been classified with the new term.
