Abstract

This paper reports a numerical investigation of the effect of antireflection films on transmitted color in optical instruments consisting of a number of coated surfaces. Three film thicknesses, six glasses of refractive index ranging from 1.5110 to 1.7200, and surface multiplicities from to 64 are reported. Colorimetric data for the films in reflection and transmission are tabulated and the leading results summarized.
