Abstract

A new method for simultaneous production of records of refractivity and its gradient in liquid columns is presented. It is based on the use of a specially designed cell with one piano-parallel part, where the light is vertically deflected according to the local value of the gradient, and one prismatic part, in which the light suffers a lateral deflection according to the local refractivity value.
