Abstract

We present a technique for the centralized monitoring of the true connection loss in branched fibers, even when G.652 and G.657 A1 fibers are combined, using end-reflection-assisted Brillouin analysis. And we realize a connection loss accuracy of better than 0.1 dB in an eight-branched PON.
