Abstract

A new packaging design is presented for an erbium-doped fiber laser, which is shown to greatly reduce the sensitivity of the laser frequency noise to environmental acceleration. The laser's performance makes it suitable for applications in interferometric systems in field environments where the laser may be exposed to high vibration.
