Abstract

Unlike transmissive liquid crystal display (LCD), spectral reflectance of reflective LCD along normal direction was observed to be different for left and right rotation of LC molecules or different domains. Characteristics of spectral reflectance distribution were analyzed. This dependence of spectral reflectance can be used to modify spectral reflectance distribution of reflective LCD at nonzero gray levels.
