Optical Distortion in Nd+3 Doped Glass for Repetitive Pumping

Abstract

Optical distortions of Nd+3 doped glass induced by repetitive optical pumping have been studied by-means of interferometric measurements. The over-all distortion of laser rod reaches an upper limit much larger than the one observed in single-shot operation. Laser output energy measurements are also reported as a function of the number of shots.
