Observations of CO2 Laser Radiation with an Infrared Image Converter

Abstract

Visual observation of complex diffraction, interference, and mode distributions of a CO2 laser, operating at 10.6 μ, was accomplished using an ir image converter. Spatial resolution of better than 75 μ was obtained with a dynamic range of at least 30:1.
