Spectral Emissivity Calculations by the Statistical Model Applied to the 4.3-μ Bands of CO2 at High Temperatures

Abstract

The statistical band model is used to compute the spectral emissivity in the 4.3-μ CO2 band as a function of the experimental parameters: pressure, optical path, and temperature. A simplified analysis for predicting emissivities is presented for temperatures from 1200°K to 2100°K. The results obtained are in good agreement with both experimental measurements and theoretical calculations.
